Conference FAQs
Top questions about the conference
What does my conference registration fee include?
Your conference registration fee includes all educational sessions, Sunday's morning breakfast, and Monday's Recognition Luncheon. It does not include airfare, hotel, or special events. If you wish to purchase box lunches for Saturday and/or Sunday, you must do so when you register for the conference, for an additional fee (listed on the registration form).
Please be aware that food breaks and meals have changed this year. At this year's conference, your registration fee will include the following two (2) meal events:
- Continental breakfast on Sunday, May 16th
- General Membership and Recognition Meeting luncheon on Monday, May 17th
All other breaks and meals are "on your own," which means you may purchase boxed lunches or choose other dining options.
If you would like the convenience of a boxed lunch for Saturday, May 15th and/or Sunday, May 16th, you must purchase it when you register for the conference. Each boxed lunch costs $25, which is the actual cost to DDNA from the Resort. The boxed lunch includes a sandwich, a side, dessert, and a beverage. There will be several varieties available at the conference, including a vegetarian option.
Both DDNA's online and mail-in conference registration forms provide a place to indicate whether you wish to purchase boxed lunches. When mailing in your registration, please remember to add the cost of the boxed lunches to your conference check payment to prevent delay of your conference registration. If you have registered a guest and he/she would like boxed lunches, please remember to add the additional boxed lunch fees for your guest.

You can enjoy fine dining with Reno's first Celebrity Chef, Charlie Palmer. Charlie Palmer Steak features artisan meals and a trademark eclectic wine collection. You can also enjoy Charlie Palmer's premiere seafood restaurant, Fin FIsh, featuring a premium raw bar and fresh fish. If you like fine Italian food, spend an evening at Briscola, where you can enjoy a selection of pasta and other dishes at affordable family prices. If you prefer a more casual dining experience, try the buffet at The Lodge, the 2nd Street Express deli, Café Sierra, or 50's style burgers at Johnny Rockets. Pick up a quick sub or pizza slice at Port of Subs and Round Table Pizza. There's even a Starbucks for your morning coffee break.
You will be pleased to know that all hotel rooms provide coffee/tea and a coffee maker, and that if you have upgraded to the Summit Suites, they also include a butler pantry with a microwave and mini-refrigerator. So you may choose to bring food.
Can I bring my family or friends to the conference?
Yes, you may. The conference is at a great resort location! If your family members or friends will just be sharing your hotel room and not participating in any conference events, there is no additional charge. If you family member wants to join you for the Sunday breakfast and Monday's lunch at the conference, there is a guest registration charge to cover the cost of the food. You can add a guest registration when you register for the conference registration.
How many nursing CEs are offered for the 2010 conference and how do I get my CE certificate?
Each session that you attend varies in the amount of CE that is offered. Friday's certification preparation sessions total 5.5 CEs. If you attend the entire preconference, you can receive 6.5 CEs. If you attend the entire conference without the preconference, you can receive 16.5 CEs. If you attend both the entire preconference and the entire conference in 2009, you can receive 23 CEs. If you attend the Chapter/Network Leadership Seminar on Tuesday afternoon, you will receive 2.25 additional hours of CE. To obtain your CE certificates after the conference, you will complete your conference evaluation online on the DDNA website. Once you complete the evaluations, you can print out your certificates directly from the website.
How do I get my conference manual?
DDNA will not be distributed printed manuals at the conference. For those who would like a bound and printed conference manual, you have the option of purchasing one directly from the printer in advance of the conference. If you do not care to purchase a conference manual, you can download the manual free from this page beginning on April 6th. We've noticed at the conference that most attendees bring their laptops, so we are offering the option to request a free flash drive or free CD containing the entire conference manual. If you are bringing your laptop to the conference and are interested in the free flash drive or CD, indicate this when you register for the conference. For more information about obtaining a conference manual, click on "Conference Manual" in the Quick links box on any of the conference pages of this website.
I'm having trouble downloading the conference brochure. What should I do?
We suggest that you update your Acrobat Reader. The conference brochure is very colorful and contains large pictures, which require a recent version of Acrobat Reader. This software is free and safe from viruses. We have made downloading the most current Acrobat Reader easy for you by placing a link that says "Get Adobe Reader" in the grey bar at the bottom of this screen.
Does the cost of registration include my airfare and hotel room?
Your hotel, airfare, and other expenses are your responsibility. DDNA has arranged discounted hotel prices for you during the conference and for a few days right before and after the conference, in case you want to add some vacation days to your conference attendance.
The hotel has set aside some extra days both before and after the conference dates for people who would like to stay and enjoy a fun vacation. We recommend that if you are planning on coming early or staying longer at the resort that you book these rooms as soon as possible because there is limited availability for these extra days. Make sure that you let the hotel know that you are a DDNA conference attendee when you register for these extra days so that you can get the discounted room rate.
